Joan Riera Robuste (Barcelona Und Regensburg, * 1968)

In recent years, his goal as a composer is to find formulas to relate the movement of sound in space to the perception of sound, as well as to emphasize the interaction of sound with the resonances created by architectural spaces. In 2023 he starts the Walls of Sound project, which seeks to incorporate architectural spaces with high levels of reverberation to experience the so-called “diffuse sound fields”. His purpose is to create a type of musical composition that could be described as contextual, i.e. linked to a specific acoustic context. In 2017, together with his colleague Christian Vogl, he founded auch Musik e.V., an association dedicated to the broadcasting of multichannel electroacoustic music in Regensburg cinemas using Dolby 5.1 and 7.1 systems.
